Bright Beginnings’ Salinas Mamás have an ambitious — and they believe doable — goal: making quality, full-time preschool accessible for all children. Through their Preschool for All campaign in Salinas, Las Mamás works in the community to raise awareness of the importance of quality, full-time preschool for a child’s success in school and life. Padres Unidos is a program of BHC that works with Salinas Mamás to advocate for high-quality early childhood education through the LCAP process, in which public schools gather feedback from the community on priorities for the upcoming school year. Through their combined leadership and emphasis on lifting up the voices of parents and children, they have made progress toward ensuring that all children in Salinas have access to affordable, quality early education.
