The Community Alliance for Safety and Peace (or CASP) is a coalition focused on reducing youth violence and its impact on the City of Salinas. CASP brings together leaders from youth service organizations, county housing and health departments, local and state government, criminal justice and law enforcement, education, business, the faith community, and private funding organizations. These leaders come together to align their activities, using data, research, and engagement with the community to inform their actions. Over the last several years, Salinas has seen a significant drop in murders, violent assaults, verbal and physical harassment, and other indicators that CASP works to improve.
