Why It Matters
Harmony at Home is a non-profit organization that for several years has partnered with the Salinas City Elementary School District (SCESD) to reduce existing bullying and prevent future bullying through their Olweus program. This program aims to reduce bullying in the participating schools and increase the number of bullying reported when it does happen. It is in place in 10/14 schools across SCESD. Harmony at Home’s implementation of Olweus allows students to feel safer and cared for at school. This sense of connectedness then allows for a better learning environment.

What’s Next?
Harmony at Home hopes to encourage the rest of the schools in SCESD who have not yet begun to implement Olweus to do so, allowing more students to benefit from their program.
