Research shows that more than two-thirds of all U.S. jobs will require a post-high school degree or credential by 2020.

Leaders’ Forum | April 29, 2016

In response to the valuable feedback received during our previous Leaders’ Forum, Bright Futures was pleased to officially announce the areas our community has chosen to focus on for the next 10 years, our 7 Community Goals.

The Leaders’ Forum, held at the National Steinbeck Center on April 29, 2016, included over 50 leading decision makers from around Monterey County.

Now that we have identified the goals, attendees were introduced to the opportunity for organization alignment. Pictures and stories of successful alignment activities were shared. A few of these examples are celebrated on our Aligned Organizations page.

In small strategic groups, leaders used conversation starters to engage in deeper discussion identifying their past, current and future alignment activities. Ideas and experiences were exchanged, followed by attendees filling out a response card recording their current engagements and future plans of collective impact across the 7 Goals. Participants were encouraged to become catalysts within their own circles in an effort to recruit other businesses and organizations interested in improving the cradle-to-career education pipeline of Monterey County.
